PhotoMap — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-18

This Privacy Policy describes how the PhotoMap Android application (the "App") handles your data. The App is published by Louis Dromain-Lévêque (louis@dromain-leveque.fr).

Summary

PhotoMap does not collect, transmit, or share any of your personal data or photos with us or any third party. All processing of your photos and their metadata happens on your device. The App contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

What the App accesses on your device

All of the above is stored only inside the App's private storage on your device (typically /data/data/fr.dromainleveque.photomap/files/). It never leaves your device. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data deletes this storage.

Data sent over the network

The App displays a map using OpenStreetMap tiles. To render the map, your device requests map tile images from tile.openstreetmap.org. These requests contain only the geographic area being viewed (tile coordinates) and standard HTTP headers, including a User-Agent that identifies the App together with a contact e-mail (louis@dromain-leveque.fr) as required by the OpenStreetMap Foundation tile usage policy.

No part of your photos, no EXIF data, and no personal information is sent to OpenStreetMap or to any other server. OpenStreetMap's own data handling is described in their Privacy Policy.

Permissions the App requests

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Demo version

The "PhotoMap Demo" build limits processing to the first 100 photos in the selected folder. Its privacy behavior is otherwise identical to the full App.
